The tale of a red, dotty, summery OOTD!

Lately I've been struggling with this blogging malarkey. I think it's down to me being too critical of myself - it's something I really enjoy putting time and effort into, but if people don't respond in the way I had hoped, I get a little bit upset. It’s silly really, because I know I should just be doing it for myself, but I can't be the only one who thrives on the encouragement, or compliments, of others, can I? It bolsters my self-confidence and spurs me on, so I can’t help but feel a little zapped if it doesn't seem people are enjoying what I'm writing.

Because of this little dip, I decided I would post about something sunny and happy (obviously this doesn't coincide with today's weather, or really, my mood!) to try and perk myself up! The last time I ventured (properly) into OOTD territory, I showed you a Spring-kinda-dress of mine, but today I'm going to be catapulting you through that season and taking you straight to Summer!

Adopting the 'pageant' pose

Tuesday I wore this little number out and about in the sunshine. Sometimes I just can't help but feel a little chirpy and, (dare I say it?.....I'm gonna say it!) pretty, when I get to wear this dress (sans tights, jumper or coat!). My mood just sky-rockets. So, to try and help myself along a little, I thought I'd wack these photos out - they are definitely befitting of a smile, even one that's small in form!

Showing off my bag and the shape of the dress - love the pleats along the waistband!
This dress is from AX Paris (bought last year) and is one of my absolute favourites - it's the only red dress I am aware of ever having owned, it's got dots on it (who doesn't love a dotty dress? Hmmm, it seems I'm rather partial, see here and here!) and the fit is as perfect as I'm sure any dress is ever gonna get my friends! The belt is my staple from H&M (I know, I know, yawn!) and the shoes, sunglasses and bag were from (can you guess?!) Primark!! I do so love wearing a basket on my arm, I feel like I'm living in a different era! And lady shoes (just go with it!) always make one feel, well, like a lady!!

My accessories and a close-up of the dress (in case you haven't had enough of its dottyness!)

Oh, and it case you've missed it, here's my new hair in all it's bloody (non) shiny, completely annoying, unwilling-to-be-styled glory! I'm still not 100% happy with the shade - in places it's orange and, as you've probably guessed, that's not the look I'm going for! - but I'm just so happy to be blonde again, I can't be bothered to go back to the salon to sit for another few hours, so as to try and get it sorted. It's safe to say that the day I had this colour done was the last day I'll be setting foot in that salon, unfortunately. Grrr, I do hate the thought of having to find another hairdresser though!

I've totally gone off topic now, so I'll quickly whip it back around to the one at hand and ask, did you manage to make the most of the Summery pieces in your wardrobe during our brief spell of sunshine?

To my fabulous Tori's Tales comment'ers - I cherish each and every comment you take the time to leave me and, because of that, I reply to each and every one in return. If you have a Twitter account, then that's where you'll find me replying (because, let's be honest, I live on Twitter. In Twitter. Around Twitter. Twitter). If you don't then fear not, because a) this means you don't say stuff like the things above and b) I'll find you elsewhere.......
(*creeps you all out*)
