A late night, pre-bed, hair tale

Today's post will be a brief one, as I'm currently feeling a bit blah about my new bloody hair and am thoroughly frustrated that this is the case. Because of it, I can't really be bothered to say much, although I will mention (before someone else does!) that I understand hair takes time to get back to blonde, or rather, the correct (read, a nice!) blonde, but nothing in either colour situations (now, and before, when I went brunette/ombre) has come out as expected. I'm not sure I'm asking too much when I say that what I would like to happen from here is for me to wake up in the morning and just be ok with it - to be able to live with the colour and be without bloody head sores. I had no idea I would even suffer from them :/ It seems a bit 'don't ask, don't tell'-y, because what if you don't know to ask?! Urgh, am I just expecting too much?!

Anyway, this is the best I can offer you right now as a before and after. Look how happy I was in the first photo, excited for the day to start!

Right, enough of this whinging, night all!

Ready for the day to start.....
.....and ready for the day to end!

  1. I used to dye my ginger-blonde hair black for years (I wanted to look like my dark skin family ha). Last year I started the process of going back to blonde. I had highlights done rather than full bleach. It's taken about 15 months and 15 variations of color from yucky brown with blonde streaks to complete bleach to get the color that I like. Bit gingery these days to be honest.

I think blonde works for you! If you're a tad freaked by the color (if that's why you're unsure) you can have it toned.

    1. Wowser, that's quite some time! I think, for me, the frustrating thing is not being prepared for things that could, essentially go wrong. I do realise stuff takes time, but why pick out a shade etc and tell me this is what we are going for and then not tell me that, actually, there's no point in doing that because what we will get is quite different?! It's an odd one :/ I'd rather be told the truth so as to know what to prepare for.

And yes, thank you! The only time I have had brunette hair over the last 10 plus years was from October until yesterday morning! I do prefer blonde but, as you said, it's the colour/tone that's freaked me out. I definitely need that changed, but I'm not sure I can actually afford it :/

Thank you so much for your comment though Kelsey, I really am grateful for it! :)

  2. You still look beautiful Tori dear!! I hope your poor scalp feels better soon and that a hairdresser can do something with your hair that will make you love it! xoxo

    1. Thank you lovely lady! My scalp feels a little better, although weirdly is fairly numb?! I'm going to see how I feel about it today and then take it from there :) xx

    1. Oh you, that's just far too kind! I will do my best to get a better pic for you, although right now it's back in the hairband. Once I have the hairdryer back and my scalp can stand up to a brush, I'll 'style' it (because, really, I have none such skills!) and report back! :) xx

  4. ok, the head sores are normal when you are putting stronger stuff on your scalp and also it does take a while to get the right kind of blonde, I know it's frustrating when they say they are going to give you a certain colour and they don't. I can be hard to tell exactly how a hair will react. I recommend you getting the Lee Stafford Bleach Blonde shampoo and use it once or twice a week. It's what I used for years and helped with condition as well as getting rid of the yellow/brassy tones within your hair.
If you need any help just tweet me xxx

    1. Oh Sophie, thank you :) You gave me more info than the hairdresser did! I will definitely purchase the shampoo as I've had a couple of people recommend it to me now :) I think the sores have died down now, I'm just left with a lovely dry scalp! Thank you again my sweet, you are a star xx

To my fabulous Tori's Tales comment'ers - I cherish each and every comment you take the time to leave me and, because of that, I reply to each and every one in return. If you have a Twitter account, then that's where you'll find me replying (because, let's be honest, I live on Twitter. In Twitter. Around Twitter. Twitter). If you don't then fear not, because a) this means you don't say stuff like the things above and b) I'll find you elsewhere.......
